HIPS - High Impact Polystyrene

Outstanding screen printing and thermoforming properties

High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) is a polystyrene sheet with added impact resistance. It is one of the most tolerant materials available for thermoforming applications, possessing a wide heat forming temperature window. It is versatile, lightweight and inexpensive.

HIPS can be easily screen or UV digitally printed and is widely used for displays either in two or three dimensional parts. Due to its ease of thermoforming and heat bending, HIPS is often used for internal displays.

We would not recommend HIPS for external applications.

Dependent on thickness, HIPS can be cut by hand, guillotined or sawn with jigsaws, circular saws and flatbed saws.

Gluing can be achieved and we would recommend you discuss the most compatible adhesive with your local Amari sales office.
