Plastics are frequently used in the agricultural sector and the food industry. Plastics have excellent technical properties, such as chemical resistance, strength, wear resistance and food safety (according to the European EU 10/2011 and/or American legislation according to the FDA).

With Vink Plastics' wide range of food-grade plastics, practically all food production requirements are covered, in terms of application temperature and time. We have food-grade plastics available in various colours. The blue colour scheme plays an increasingly important role here. Blue is not a natural colour and is therefore easily traceable. We keep our food-grade plastics in stock, so that fast turnaround is guaranteed.

About Nylon and food

Nylon is a high performance plastic of exceptionally high quality that distinguishes itself from all other plastics. This excellent quality is achieved through a refined production moulding process in which it is almost 100% polymerised. This makes Nylon extremely pressure-resistant (lower creep than normal plastics with 30% glass), it has an extremely high wear resistance and an extremely low water absorption. Nylon can be used in various demanding applications in the field of machine construction, automotive, drive technology and the food, printing, paper and packaging industry.

A lot of HMPE, Polypropylene and Nylon is used in production lines where bakery products are produced. This includes proofing plates and parts that serve for the supply of dough, such as worm wheels and push blocks.

Over PA (Nylon) en voedsel

Polyamide of Nylon is door zijn hoge slijtvastheid in combinatie met goede glij- en roleigenschappen dé kunststof voor dynamische toepassingen in de werktuigbouw. Het harde materiaal heeft een sterk geluiddempend vermogen, is taai en stijf en heeft goede bewerkingsmogelijkheden. Door toevoeging van vulstoffen wordt Polyamide in veel uitvoeringen geproduceerd en worden de verschillende eigenschappen sterk verbeterd. PA met olie gevuld zorgt bijvoorbeeld voor integrale smering bij dynamische toepassingen met als resultaat lagere wrijving en dus langere levensduur.

About HMPE and food

The molecular density largely determines the properties of the plastic Polyethylene . HMPE has a molecular weight of ~500,000 g/mol. Compared to standard PE (HD quality), the HMPE 500 version therefore has better wear and impact resistance. UHMWPE (Ultra) has a molecular density indicated by 1000 or higher and is a super wear-resistant plastic. HMPE is moisture repellent, fully approved for direct contact with food according to the applicable 10/2011 legislation, does not adhere and has a low coefficient of friction. This easily processable plastic material group is widely used in the dairy and canning industry and machine construction for the food industry, plus the transport and transhipment sector.

About Acetal and food

Acetal is a strong, hard and above all dimensionally stable plastic with very low frictional resistance. The static and dynamic coefficients of friction are equal, which means that 'stick slip' is virtually impossible. Acetal has exceptional resilient qualities that allow it to absorb heavy impacts and vibrations. It is also easy to machine mechanically and boasts good chemical resistance to oils and fuels. The low moisture absorption and the excellent mechanical properties guarantee products that remain true to size.

About PEEK and food

Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) belongs to the group of high performance plastics. The temperature range of PEEK is from -40°C to 250°C with transient peaks up to 300°C. This plastic withstands heavy loads and has excellent chemical resistance. Add to that the low coefficient of expansion and high material stiffness and it is clear that it offers excellent dimensional stability. PEEK is flame-retardant and food-safe according to European 10/2011 legislation and the American FDA standard.
